The Accurate Fury 2-Speed Reels are single drag, saltwater reels featuring a variable 2-speed gear ratio. Accurate, known for their TwinDrag technology, have ventured into the single drag reel market with their Fury models of reels. These reels, like their "Boss Extreme" counter parts, are made of 6061 T6 billet aircraft aluminum for lightweight and strength. They feature a very simplistic design with stainless steel gears, wet drag for smoothness, and an ergonomic rubber handle that fits perfectly in your hand. They come with a brushed aluminum finish, are lighter, more comfortable, and very easy to use. These reels were designed with fishermen?s needs in mind. If you are chasing bullet tuna, Schoolie Dolphin, or trying to catch your first White Seabass, the Boss Fury has a size to meet your fishing needs at an affordable price.
Accurate's Fury Reels are more or less an introductory reel from Accurate, however, they still feature high quality components and the precise engineering Accurate is known for. The Fury Reels have been machined with a simpler, more straight forward design which allows them to be price competitive with the mass produced reels of other companies while still providing the specialized touch only they can deliver. The Fury Reels still feature a double-dawg anti-reverse which is incredibly durable and will all but eliminate any mechanical failure during the fight. As many anglers are aware, over time bearings will fail, its simple mechanics, but the dawg design will prove to withstand the test of time. Aesthetically, the reels do possess a slightly different appearance due to their brushed finishing process as opposed to the polished aluminum finish displayed by other Accurate models of reels.
The Fury 2-Speed Reels are engineered with a 3.1:1 low and 6.1:1 high for the 400 and 500 models, and 2.2:1 and 5.1 in the 600 model. The gear shifting mechanism operates in the same manner as all other 2-speed Accurate Reels. The Fury reels maintain the same sizes as the Boss Extreme models, in other words, the 400 size of the Boss Extreme is exactly the same as the 400 size Fury - this was achieved by using a double side plate on the non handle side of the reel.
