The "Ike Approved" series of hooks from VMC were designed with he help of 2003 Bassmaster Classic Champion Mike Iaconelli. The heavy duty worm hook was designed for use with soft plastic worms when employing Texas or Carolina Rigs. This worm hook is the perfect choice for fishing heavy cover rigs, the VMC HD Worm hook features a 3-degree offset point which dramatically improves anglers hooking percentage as it keeps the point of the hook slightly off line from the hook's eye and therefore is more likely to stick the fish. This hook displays a nice round bend gap with enough space to penetrate through the plastic and into the fish's jaw. The hook also features a resin hook eye closure eliminating any chance of the line slipping or fraying on the gap. The smaller sizes, 1/0-3/0 are best suited for smaller finesse worms up to about 7". The larger sizes present the ideal option for the larger soft plastic worms - we find these hooks to be excellent when Carolina-rigging 7-12" soft plastic worms.
