The Cotton Cordell Pencil Popper is a topwater walking bait that replicates the action of a vulnerable forage fish moving across the surface of the water. Long the standard of coastal surf fishermen, Cotton Cordell Pencil Popper fishing lures are designed to deliver super-long casts. Within the tail section of each Pencil Popper an added weight forces the lure to sit 'tail down,' creating a bobbing target. All Pencil Poppers are designed for a relatively heavy line and are equipped with super-strong, rust resistant hooks.
Over the years, the Cotton Cordell Pencil Popper has transitioned from a coastal surf lure exclusively to a popular freshwater topwater lure for big largemouth and striped bass. The popping/walking combination imitates trout and other large forage species that the freshwater predators feed upon. Great anytime bass are chasing shad, herring or trout around the water's surface.

Give it a try
I was blown away at the amount of disturbance this bait makes, it throws a ton of water and will get the big fish to come up and take a swing!

Great bait, cheap hooks
Great bait and easy to fish. Honestly I think this bait is as good as the more expensive ones with the exception of the hooks. Change them out with better hooks and you will be happy
