Model: ZG
Constructed using a thick, rigid nylon material, the Zuker Grass Skirts are Tuna trolling lures that offer an excellent alternative to the feathered variety. While the skirt doesn't necessarily look like much, especially when you compare them to Zuker's Feather Skirts which are highly detailed, the action is something different that really appeals to Albacore and Tuna up off the California Coast. While us humans view lures with very cut and dry qualifications based on what we see and hear; fish are a very different story as they use a number of environmental factors and highly tuned senses to find and ultimately determine their interest in a food source. For whatever reason, the Grass Skirts have found their place in Tuna anglers arsenal. Perhaps its a sound emitted at a frequency we aren't aware of or vibrations that occur in the water, but they certainly work and are often the go-to choice of charter boats for their trolling applications.
These nylon skirted trolling lures have been very effective for Yellowfin, Albacore and other species especially when trolled at a fairly fast pace. We suggest grabbing a few colors, checking them out and seeing if they are something you'd like to fish. It's hard to argue with success and the Zuker's Grass Skirts have been very successful up our way in Northern California.
Zukers trolling skirts work so well that almost every boat has them on board. The effectiveness lies in the way fish see them as they zoom across the water's surface. Ideally, due to the hydrodynamic shaped head design they are meant to be trolled fast at about 10-15 knots, but they will also work great at slower speeds. They are effective for many species of fish but especially tuna.
We offer the Zuker Tuna Grass Skirts in several colors - size: 6"
