Boone Bird Unrigged - 12"

In 1985 Boone started the Bird revolution. Today, the Boone Birds continue to raise fish and help their Captains Win Tournaments through out the World. The Boone Bird is constructed of urethane foam to prevent absorbing water. A stainless steel thru-wire construction is employed for added strength. The Boone Bird should be attached to the snap swivel on your double line with the eye of the leader on the lure attached to the rear of the Bird. Birds are excellent tools that use a variety of attraction methods such as flash, sound and water commotion to attract gamefish such a marlin, tuna and more into your spread.

Our experts here at the shop suggest rigging the following way:

You will need 2 large swivels, (and not the cheapie ones), 2 crimps, and about 18" of 400# mono. Crimp one of the swivels on one end. Run the mono through, and OVER the back of the bird, then through the rear ring on the bird. Crimp a large swivel snap to the end. Don't ever try to connect the leader directly to the rings on the bird. All you need to do now, is connect whatever leader/lure to the rear swivel snap. We usually put the bird about 10' ahead of the lure.
