The Punching Weights from Eco Pro Tungsten are constructed from a 97% tungsten metal and display a unique design allowing anglers to add a punch skirt or their choice directly to the weight. Punching is one technique that requires dedicated tackle: flipping stick, braided line, strong hook and a heavy weight. Over the past decade, the heavy weight has now all but entirely become Tungsten moving away from their lead counterparts. Tungsten weights offer a number of benefits that are simply better suited for fishing and more specifically for the punching technique. Eco Pro's standard flipping weights are more than sufficient for most punching applications, however, another trend in the bass fishing world has lead Eco Pro's innovative punching weight design: the punch skirt. Punch skirts are more or less jig skirts which were modified to add more profile to a Texas-Rig punching presentation. Jigs still have their time and place, but it's certainly much easier to reach bass below matted vegetation when employing a weedless, streamlined texas rigged plastic over the exposed hook and larger surface area of the jig. The addition of the skirt on punching rigs creates an entirely new way to customize your punch baits; anglers can incorporate different colors, lengths and more essentially creating a punching jig of sorts. While many of the popular punch skirts are threaded onto the main line, Eco Pro rethought this concept seeking to reduce the number of components and afford more customization while out on the water. With the thread on punch skirts, switching colors means retying the whole rig. With Eco Pro's Punching Weights anglers can slide their current skirt off in favor of another with ease and get right back to fishing.

When you look at the Eco Pro Tungsten Punch weights in the images above, you'll notice they have an extra long cylinder on the standard weight shape. That piece is where the skirt attaches to and will remain throughout its' use. Anglers can attach any type of banded jig skirt to the back of the weight, just like you would if you were making or customizing your own jigs. It is important to note, the beaded punch skirts will not work with this sinker. That longer piece also serves to slim down the sinker's shape as the weight is evenly distributed across a longer area. This serves the unintended purpose of allowing the bait to slide through cover much easier.

Eco Pro uses a 97% tungsten formula to make their weights which are some of the higher percentage weights on the market today. The science behind the tungsten metal doesn't allow for a purely 100% tungsten for the creation of weights, therefore 97% is incredibly high especially when considering that many other companies use 95% and are therefore not as compact as Eco Pro weights. Tungsten, as a metal, is also pretty difficult to work with and the shaping of the weights can often lead to sharp points that could ultimately fray line. Not Eco Pro punching weights! These weights display a smooth, fray-free cavity without the use of any type of insert - this will really aid in the longevity of the weight.

We carry the Eco Pro Tungsten Punching Weights in four sizes: 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1.5oz sizes in two colors: Black and Green Pumpkin. 2 per pack 1/2-1oz, 1 per pack 1.5oz.
