Backbouncing is an efficient method for catching salmon, but you need a sensitive rod with lots of power to be effective. Sometimes they engulf the bait and sometimes they just hold it for a moment, crushing the eggs. Sometimes they really grab it and all but jerk the rod out of your hands. The beauty of this rod is that it's powerful enough to fish enough weight to be effective and light enough not to tire you out. It's our "power" backbouncer and will handle big water, swift current, heavy weights and really big salmon. It's important to note that the lure rating is for backbouncing, not for casting. It should cast up to 4-ounces effectively. |
