The Keitech Fat Swing Impact 5.8 is a soft plastic swimbait designed to replicate the profile and movement of small forage fish that bass prey upon. For several years the Keitech Swing Impact Swimbait was a secret of many west coast anglers. Much to their dismay, the word has slowly spread across the country and the results make this bait much more than idle dock talk. The most common issue with most small profile paddle-tail style swimbaits is the lack of tail kick produced by the bait when swam at slow speeds; in other words the bait required a fast retrieve that is not desirable when fishing swimbaits. The Swing Impact however, affords the angler the ability to retrieve it at the slowest speeds and still the wide tail-kick will be achieved. Even on the fall the tail has incredible action. The ribbed or zippered style of the Keitech Swing Impact and thin plastic connection to the tail are the two factors that give this bait its unparalleled swimming action.

The Keitech Swing Impact Fat 5.8 Swimbait measures 5.8" in length and comes 4 per pack in clamshell packaging.

Swing Impact 5.8 Rigging

The 5.8 size of the Swing Impact Fat Swimbaits can be rigged a number of ways. Unlike the smaller sizes, however, the 5.8 model is probably going to be most used as a single swimbait or the big dog of the pack in an umbrella rig. Of the many rigging methods you could use, we prefer threading the Swing Impact Fat 5.8 on a swimbait jig head ranging from 3/8oz - 1oz depending on the depth we are trying to fish. One important aspect to note, make sure you find a jig head with a long enough shank to fit the 5.8" body of this bait. Alternatively, anglers can fish this swimbait with belly-weighted swimbait hooks, such as the Owner Beast hook or Gamakatsu models. A belly weighted hook allows you to rig the bait "Tex-posed" achieving a high degree of weedlessness for skipping under docks or navigating around submerged grass lines.

As mentioned, the Keitech Swing Impact Fat 5.8 is also a great bait for the Alabama-Rigs that have taken the country by storm. The 3.8 size is best for the majority of the wires, but if you're mimicking a school of baitfish, try adding a 4.8 or 5.8 in the back of the pack and watch how often the attacking bass focuses on that bait - it may surprise you.

The difference between the standard Swing Impact baits and the Fat version is simply a wider head. The Fat version has a more pronounced head that drastically thins as it approaches the tail. Anglers across the country have embraced the Keitech Swimbait due is variety of sizes, colors, and applicable fishing techniques.
