The Promar Cotton Cable Cord is used by crab fishermen to modify the escape areas of crab traps in order to meet the regulations in the areas they are trapping. To offer a little explanation; regulations require that traps that are lost or unattended for a great deal of time offer some sort of escape for the crabs inside. If the escape mechanism is always present, the crab will simply make their way out of the trap before fishermen can retrieve them. The Promar cotton cable cord will hold up and keep crab in the trap sufficiently until trappers retrieve them; however, if lost, it will (after a long period of time) rot and allow the crab to escape trap.
Promar Cotton Cable Cord is available in two sizes: #24 - 140' and #72 - 220'.
